Problem

Selecting the right furniture for a room is traditionally fraught with uncertainty. We did 5 user interviews for their furniture shopping experience we found that...
Shoppers struggle to assess if a piece will fit their space and match their décor based only on online descriptions and photos.

Incorrect measurements leads to furniture that doesn’t fit through doors or into the intended spot.

Mismatches in style or color clash with existing decor.

Even then, it’s hard to visualize scale and appearance – a couch might look small in a catalog photo but overwhelm a living room in reality.

All this uncertainty results in frustration, delayed decisions, or costly returns when the furniture doesn’t meet expectations

“I hope capturing my room’s exact dimensions is easy.”

Competitive Study
Technical Research

Furniture e-commerce with AR/VR preview

IKEA allows users to preview furniture in a virtual room. But the room is a preset template, not their actual home.

Amazon‘s AR preview only serves as a viewing tool.
Room Scanning & AR Measurement

Polycam uses LiDAR and photogrammetry to create high-quality 3D models from real-world objects and spaces. It allows users to capture, edit, and export both low-poly and high-poly models.

Apple Measure can estimate dimensions of objects and spaces in real time. It allows users to measure length, width, and height with virtual guides.
